This Privacy Notice sets out how Verisure Services (UK) Limited processes your personal data, including when and why it is collected, used, and disclosed and how it is kept secure.

As part of any recruitment process, Verisure collects and processes personal data relating to job applicants. Verisure is committed to being transparent about how it collects and uses that data and to meeting its data protection obligations.
What data does Verisure collect?
We collect a range of data about you. This includes:
- your name, address, and contact details, including email address and telephone number;
- details of your qualifications, skills, experience, and employment history;
- other data provided by you in your CV which is not listed here;
- data about your entitlement to work in the UK; and
- in addition, if you are selected for a position with Verisure, you may be asked to provide external references, and to conduct a DBS check and/or to provide details of criminal convictions if any.
Verisure collects this data in a variety of ways. For example, personal data contained in application forms, CVs or resumes, obtained from your passport or other identity documents, or collected through interviews or other forms of assessment, including online tests.
In addition to collecting your personal information directly from you, we may collect it from other third parties (i.e., recruiters, former employers, and law enforcement agencies) or through your interaction with the Workday and Phenom environment and other sources.
Your personal data will be stored in a range of different places, including on your application record, in HR management systems and on other IT systems (including email).
How do we use and why do we process personal data?
We will use the personal data we collect about you to:
- assess your skills, qualifications, and suitability for the role;
- carry out reference checks;
- communicate with you about the recruitment process;
- keep records related to our hiring processes; and
- comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
Having received your application, we will then process that information through the Workday and Phenom environment to decide whether you meet the basic requirements to be shortlisted for the role. If you do, we will decide whether your application is strong enough to invite you for an interview. If we decide to call you for an interview, we will use the information you provide to us at the interview to decide whether to offer you the role.
Why does Verisure process personal data?
Verisure needs to process personal data to take steps at your request prior to entering a contract with you. It also needs to process your data to enter into a contract with you.
In some cases, Verisure needs to process data to ensure that it is complying with its legal obligations. For example, it is required to check a successful applicant's eligibility to work in the UK before employment starts.
Verisure has a legitimate interest in processing personal data during the recruitment process and for keeping records of the process. Processing data from job applicants allows Verisure to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm a candidate's suitability for employment and decide to whom to offer a job. Verisure may also need to process data from job applicants to respond to and defend against legal claims.
Where Verisure relies on legitimate interests as a reason for processing data, it has considered whether or not those interests are overridden by the rights and freedoms of job applicants, employees or workers and has concluded that they are not.
Verisure will only process health data if it needs to make reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process for candidates who have a disability. This is to carry out its obligations and exercise specific rights in relation to employment.
For the avoidance of doubt Verisure does not process sensitive data as part of your initial job application process.
For some roles, Verisure is obliged to seek data about criminal convictions and offences. Where Verisure seeks this data, it does so because it is necessary to carry out its obligations and exercise specific rights to comply with a regulatory requirement.
If your application is unsuccessful, Verisure will keep your personal data on file and in case there are future employment opportunities, Verisure may process your personal data in order to offer you a new job opportunity that suits your profile. By applying, you consent to this Privacy Notice
If Verisure considers that your profile may suit the job opportunity offered, Verisure may call you by using the phone number that you provided. By consenting to this Privacy Notice, you allow Verisure to listen to and record the telephone conversation between you and Verisure for the purpose of improving its services and training employees. The recording will be kept according to Verisure’s Data Retention Policy which can be made available upon request.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting Verisure, by sending an email to the following email address: email@example.com. However, Verisure may not be able to continue with your application, if you withdraw your consent.
Who has access to data?
Your data will be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.
Verisure will not share your data with third parties unless your application for employment is successful and it makes you an offer of employment. Verisure may share your data with former employers to obtain references for you. We will contact the Disclosure and Barring Service to obtain necessary criminal records checks.
We may provide your personal information to other third parties:
- To provide services to support our recruitment process as well as to facilitate post-offer processes and certain steps involved in initiating the employment relationship. These third parties are authorized to use personal information about you only as necessary to provide these services. Such third parties change from time to time but may include Phenom People, Inc. and Workday Inc. And their respective third-party providers.
- where we are obliged to do so in compliance with a legal obligation or in compliance with our obligations in respect of regulatory bodies, government bodies and agencies or courts and court-appointed persons.
- To protect our rights or property, protect your health and safety, or the health and safety of others.
- To detect and investigate fraud or illegal activity, or to respond to a government request.
- As required for a merger, acquisition or sale of all or a portion of assets. In such a case, the successor company will acquire the same rights and obligations that we haves related to your personal information.
We will not transfer your personal information to a third party unless the third party agrees to provide the level of privacy protection consistent with applicable law and in accordance with this Privacy Notice. We will have proper contracts or legal mechanisms in place (such as data protection agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses, etc.) prior to transferring personal information to another country.
Where Verisure stores your personal data:
As a matter of principle, Verisure stores your personal data within the UK, the EU or within the European Economic Area (EEA); or in countries that have an appropriate level of data protection. Verisure will not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.
How does Verisure protect data?
Verisure takes the security of your personal data seriously. It has internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by our employees in the proper performance of their duties.
For how long does Verisure keep data?
If your application for employment is unsuccessful, Verisure will hold your personal data on file for up to 12 months after the end of the relevant recruitment process, unless you give us notice to hold the data for up to 2 years.
By submitting your application, you agree to allow Verisure to keep and process your personal data on file, Verisure will hold your data on file for a further for future employment opportunities if Verisure has your consent. At the end of that period or once you withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted or destroyed.
If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment. You can find out the different periods for which your data will be held by requesting Verisure’s Retention Policy.
As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can:
- access and obtain a copy of your data on request;
- require Verisure to change incorrect or incomplete personal data;
- require Verisure to delete or stop processing your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing;
- object to the processing of your data where Verisure is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing; and
- ask Verisure to stop processing your data if your data is inaccurate or there is a dispute about whether or not your interests override Verisure's legitimate grounds for processing data.
- Request the transfer of your personal data to another party.

What if you do not provide personal data?
You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to Verisure during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide your personal data, Verisure may not be able to process your application properly or at all. If your application is successful, it will be a condition of any job offer that you provide evidence of your right to work in the UK and satisfactory references.
You are under no obligation to provide data for equal opportunities monitoring purposes and there are no consequences for your application if you choose not to provide such data.
Verisure may share your personal data as follows:
Verisure may disclose or communicate your data in order to meet our obligations with the corresponding public administrations in the cases if required by the applicable law, at any given time and, where appropriate, to other bodies such as the national and local law enforcement authorities as well as governmental and regulatory bodies and judicial courts.
In addition to all that have been mentioned in this notice, Verisure may disclose your personal data to other companies within our group of companies as part of the delivery of the services. Verisure’s services requires the skills and resources of other companies, therefore, some of the data processing can be done by Verisure service providers described below, although this is not an exhaustive list of providers and may be changed from time to time.
Categories of these recipients include:
- Telephone providers (Verint, Genesys, Inconcert) with whom Verisure will contact you by phone.
- Other website such as total jobs, CV Library, Indeed, Logicmelon
- Verisure IT services providers used to store customer relationship management data.
- Analysis and search engine providers to help Verisure to improve and optimize the website.
- Data centres that store Verisure’s website and databases,
- IT service providers who maintain the systems,
If Verisure discloses data to service providers, they may only use your data to perform their tasks according to Verisure’s instructions. The service providers were carefully selected and commissioned by Verisure. They are contractually bound by a contract with Verisure and there are appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to protect the rights of the persons concerned. Verisure regularly monitored this process.
Some of our recruitment processes are based on automated decision-making. For example, when you are asked questions and your answers don’t match the mandatory requirement for the vacancy, then your application may not proceed any further beyond application.
You have the right to request manual decision-making by a natural person instead of automated decision-making, by sending your request to email@example.com.
Changes to the Privacy Notice
Verisure may occasionally update this Privacy Notice, so please check this Privacy Notice from time to time to ensure that you are happy with the changes.
